Blizzard has discussed WoW Classic’s Season of Mastery with version differences and unimplemented changes. The developer explained that the game will have a few new features, but it would be impossible to implement all of the old ones. Read more in detail here: world of warcraft classic.

The landscape of World of Warcraft Classic is changing with the launch of patch 8.0, which brings a new season to the game. Season 16 will last until November 14th and allow players to play through all content up to Wrath of the Lich King with differing level requirements for each different expansion’s content. Additionally, some classically-underrepresented classes are finally returning in WoW Classic including Mage, Paladin, Shaman and Warlock. Though there were no changes made to any current player character models or textures during this development cycle they have been given an overhaul that make them look better than ever before regardless if you played these characters back when vanilla WOW was released 5 years ago or not!

For WoW Classic’s Season of Mastery, there were a few options on the table, and one of them seems like a no-brainer: assigning the Volcanic affix to the creatures in Molten Core. After all, it is, after all, a volcano. According to a new interview with lead WoW Classic developer Brian Birmingham on Countdown to Classic, the designers were ultimately satisfied with the feedback received regarding the actual changes to Molten Core, so no more drastic changes were required, despite the seasonal server team being told that they have leeway to make fairly drastic changes if necessary.

Birmingham also discusses the various game versions currently available, which range from retail World of Warcraft to three different versions of WoW Classic; his response focuses on the idea that the team wants to increase the available audience for each seasonal server while ensuring that you can always play your “preferred” version of the game. Activision-Blizzard is seen as a troublesome company in the MMO and gaming business due to a long string of incidents in the industry over the last few years, including the Blitzchung boycott, massive layoffs, labor concerns, and executive pay dispute. In the summer of 2021, the company was sued by the state of California for fostering a workplace that was riddled with sexual harassment and discrimination, and the company’s disastrous response has added to Blizzard’s ongoing pipeline issues and the widespread perception that its online games are on the decline. As of fall 2021, many state and federal agencies are investigating the company, and the industry has sought Bobby Kotick’s resignation after new charges of malfeasance.
