The “shannon sharpe twitter” is a tweet that was sent by Shannon Sharpe, former NFL player and analyst. The tweet says that the $75 million man played like he’s worth 75 cents.
The Amazon lawsuit has been filed and the self-proclaimed $75 million man has dusted off his old “I’m worth it” shirt, but despite all of that he is still playing like he’s worth 75 cents. What does this say about how much people are willing to pay for you?
The Dallas Cowboys were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in a humiliating loss, dropping to 7-3 in the process. Overall, the Cowboys’ performance was lackluster, particularly after their 43-3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons only a week before.
Dak Prescott, the quarterback, had a particularly poor showing. It was so awful that Skip Bayless, a notorious Cowboys apologist, ripped down his beloved team’s starting quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott gets a failing mark from Skip Bayless.
Dallas’ offensive did not put on a very impressive show, to put it mildly.
The Cowboys only scored nine points against a Chiefs defense that is often regarded as mediocre. Dallas only managed 276 total yards of offense. Prescott threw for 216 yards on 28-of-43 passing with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
When looking back on the defeat, Bayless awarded Prescott a failing mark because of his performance.
“The big picture takeaway from what I witnessed from my Dallas Cowboys yesterday was that this game smacked me in the face like a LeBron James sucker punch.” My nose was bled and my eye was cut. Bayless bemoaned, “It opened up my lips.”
Bayless was, of course, referring to the bench-clearing brawl between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, in which Pistons big man Isiah Stewart was bloodied and LeBron James was dismissed. That made the news a little bit.
“If only my quarterback had been as good as my rookie defensive end.” “If only my quarterback had performed like Micah [Parsons], we may have been able to steal this game,” Bayless said.
Dallas’ rookie linebacker/defensive end hybrid Micah Parsons was the lone bright point in the defeat. He had four tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits as a result of his performance. He’s not just a rookie-of-the-year contender; he’s also a strong contender for defensive player of the year.
“For the second time in three games, the 75 million dollar guy has played like he’s worth 75 cents,” Bayless remarked. “I was taken aback and blindsided because I hadn’t seen it coming.”
Patrick Mahomes was a mediocre quarterback for the Chiefs. Dallas’ situation was made worse by Prescott.

The fact that the Cowboys really did a good job of slowing down Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s offense had to be the most frustrating aspect for Dallas.
Mahomes had just thrown for 406 yards and five touchdowns against the Raiders a week prior. Dallas restricted him to 23-of-37 passing for 260 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception despite the defeat.
It wasn’t Mahomes’ best performance, but the Cowboys offense couldn’t capitalize.
“All I’ve heard all week is that this may be my team’s signature victory.” Sure, it’d be a signature victory if Dak went up and outplayed Mahomes as I predicted,’ Bayless added. “I thought he’d have a higher QBR than Mahomes, which now seems ridiculous.”
To Bayless’ point, Mahomes’ quarterback rating was just 71.9. Prescott was considerably worse, with a score of 57.9.
The Cowboys are part of a worrying trend.
The Cowboys are moving in an unsettling direction, despite their respectable 7-3 record and dominating lead in the NFC East.
Dallas has now lost two of its previous three games, and the most concerning aspect of this skid is how the Cowboys, particularly Prescott, have performed in those defeats.
In their defeat against the Broncos, they only managed 290 offensive yards and 16 points. Against Kansas City, they couldn’t even find the end zone. Dallas has struggled the hardest on third downs in both defeats. Against the Broncos and Chiefs, the Cowboys were a combined 10-of-28 on third down.
Prescott’s passing statistics in both defeats were abysmal. Between the two games, he was 47-of-82 for 448 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. To Bayless’ point, he hasn’t seemed to be the franchise quarterback Dallas has entrusted with a multimillion-dollar deal.
At the very least, Prescott admitted his mistakes.
According to the club website, Prescott remarked after the defeat to the Chiefs, “The offense didn’t get the job done, and it begins with me and it starts with the way we communicated and executed.”
“I mean, we may all be responsible for everything that occurred out there and take part in this tragedy.”
ESPN and Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.
